Expertise and Clinical Interests

My clinical expertise is within the domain of comprehensive diagnostic

evaluation of malignant and benign hematolymphoid disorders with an emphasis on lymphomas and leukemias. As an experienced hematopathologist, I utilize cytomorphology in conjunction with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, flow cytometry, genetics and molecular tools to establish accurate diagnosis of lymphomas and leukemias. I welcome the opportunity to work with you on your interesting and challenging cases; I hope you could share them with me.

For more information on my clinical profiles, please visit: pathology.ucsd.edu/faculty/wang.htm

Research Interests

My current research interests focus on the underlying molecular and genetic

mechanisms of lymphomas and leukemias. I am particularly interested in the decoding of  the genetics of lymphoma and leukemia by employing advanced genetic tools such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and array-based comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH). By using these robust and high throughput tools, we can not only uncover the pathogenesis of lymphomas and leukemias, but also we identify novel molecular and genetic targets for novel and personalized medicine of the 21st century.

With a PhD in Molecular Pathology and Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of California San Diego (UCSD), one of the top 15 research universities worldwide, I have extensive training in modern cellular and molecular bio-medical sciences, and I have a track record of publications including publication in some of the finest journals such as Cell, Molecular Cell, PNAS, and Nature. As of today, I have more than 68 published articles, which are cited more than 1148 times with total impact factor of 336.07 as of December 2015.  I welcome the opportunity to solicit more funding and collaborations to support more research endeavors in the near future.
